Erik Bagger, tenor, has performed Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Alfredo in La Traviata, Rodolfo in La Bohème, Bastien in Bastien und Bastienne, Ernesto in Don Pasquale, Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, and over twenty other operatic roles. The New York Times has called him “Consistently amusing,” and Broadway World has dubbed him a “Comic gem.” In January 2015, he sang the title role in Bronx Opera’s production of Albert Herring. In the summer of 2014, Erik sang the role of Mr. Ford, in the Manhattan premiere of Salieri’s Falstaff, with dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, and received critical praise. He has also performed with Apollo Opera, The Martina Arroyo Foundation, Opera Noire of NY, Opera on Tap, Opera Oggi NY, The North Shore Music Festival, The Buck Hill Skytop Music Festival, Intermezzo Opera Festival, New Operafestival di Roma, LiedAustria and Opera Ischia. Erik holds a Master of Music degree, in addition to a Bachelor of Music degree, from The Conservatory of Music of Brooklyn College, where he was the recipient of the Brooklyn College Opera Theatre Award and The Saul Lyons Memorial Scholarship. He has been featured in an interview and broadcast of arias on WMNR Fine Arts Radio.
